Epping Forest Pistol Club
Our name, Epping Forest Pistol Club, is historic and dates back to the days when we were permitted to shoot handguns. Sadly, this is no longer the case, but we retain the name.

Firearms in Club Room
-
No firearms are ever to be loaded except on a firing point.
-
Firearms must be unloaded and cased at all times in the Club room. In the unlikely event of a firearm needing to be removed from its case, this must be cleared first with the Duty Range Officeron the desk.
-
No firearm is to be pointed at any person, even when unloaded, this applies anywhere on the premises. Breaking of this rule will result in instant explusion from the club.
Firearms on the Firing Point
-
No firearm is to be handled if any person is in front of the firing point (i.e. putting up targets).
-
Range commands
RANGE CLEAR ON THE POINT
PUT ON MUFFS AND GLASSES
CLEAR TO LOAD AND SHOOT IN YOUR OWN TIME
At this time firearms may be handled and shooting can commence.
All firearms to point down range at all times.
If you have any malfunction apply the safety and call the Range Officer.
On the command CEASE FIRE BENCH WEAPONS AND SHOW CLEAR, you must stop firing, unload and bench your firearm. All firearms will be checked by the Range Officer and not touched again until given the command to do so.
After clearing all firearms, the Range Officer should be advised by any shooter who wishes to remove a firearm from the point. At this point any magazines will be checked to ensure they are empty before being allowed to be put away. This must be completed before the Range Officer can give the command CLEAR TO GO FOWARD.
Only paper targets are to be used and these must be fixed to the club provided target frames.
If you have a new firearm or are using a club gun for the first time and you are not familiar with it, please ask the Range Officer for advice.
